In a surprising move, controversial Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame has been announced as the new face of animal rights group PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The Brick Squad rapper and Gucci Mane associate, who was recently arrested on drug and weapons charges, has revealed that he will be taking part in PETA's Ink, Not Mink campaign in Los Angeles, alongside Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and Pink.

"Animals should be treated the same as you would a kid. Would you want someone just to walk up and skin your kid? Hell no!" Waka told XXL, in regards to his interest in animal rights.

The Ink, Not Mink campaign launches on Feb. 22, and, if naked photos of Dennis Rodman and Chad Ochocinco in past ads are any indication, will likely feature a nude image of Waka Flocka Flame. We're not quite sure who that will appeal to.

In other Waka Flocka news, the MC revealed last month that he was well underway with his sophomore album, which is titled 'Triple F Life: Friends, Fans and Family,' and could be out by year's end.
