Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel and three other men were found guilty of murder on Thursday (March 13) following a 65-day trial in Jamaica.

According to the Jamaican-Gleaner, the 11-member jury deliberated for nearly two hours before reaching a 10-1 verdict. The judge sent the jurors back to reconsider their decision before they returned with an unanimous conviction.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, and five other men were on trial for the murder of 27-year-old Clive "Lizard" Williams. The prosecution alleges that Williams was beaten by Kartel and his crew over two missing guns. Among the five men, fashion designer Calvin Haye had his charges dropped, while Shane Williams was found not guilty at trial.

Earlier this month, Busta Rhymes attended the murder trial to show support for Kartel, who appeared on the rapper's '#Twerkit (Remix).'

Kartel’s attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, vows to appeal the jury’s verdict. Kartel and the three other convicted men will return to court for sentencing on March 27.
