After dropping two buzz singles, 'Good Kisser' and 'She Came to Give It to You,' you would expect that Usher will be releasing his new album very soon. Well, not quite.

In an interview with Billboard, the Grammy-winning artist says that he's still tinkering with his eighth album, 'UR,' and there's no timetable for when the project will arrive in stores.

"The album isn't scheduled anymore. I've basically taken it back. I'm taking my time with it," he says. "At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio [and] go with how you feel."

The veteran R&B singer says the collection doesn't have a particular theme. Currently, he's recording songs and seeing where they will fit on the album.

"It's not about a specific topic or specific period of my life, I work on 40-50 songs in making an album," he explains. "I haven’t finished the album enough to tell you what I'm talking about."

So far, Usher has tapped hitmakers the Internz, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Pop & Oak, Jermaine Dupri and Skrillex for production, while Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran and Chris Brown make cameos on the project.

Usher's friendship with Breezy has blossomed since the recording of 'New Flame' and it will continue on through his album.

"There is another record that we worked on for the album," he said. "The relationship is great [and] we’ve been able to build."

Whether the album gets released or not, Usher is set to embark on a 27-city trek in the fall.

The UR Experience Tour will start in Montreal, Quebec on Nov. 1 and end on Dec. 14 in Tampa, Fla. Opening up for Usher is R&B newcomer August Alsina.

Usher sees the opening slot as his way to mentor burgeoning singers on the path to stardom.

"I always thought of that opening spot as the place for the person that I can can give an experience they haven’t had before, to mentor them through," he says.

Tickets for the UR Experience Tour are available now via Ticketmaster.
