Ultimate Warrior, one of the most influential and iconic wrestling superstars in WWE history, passed away at the age of 54 Tuesday (April 8). Friend and fellow wrestler Triple H confirmed the sad news on Twitter. As of today (April 9), there is no word on the cause of death.

The WWE also issued a press release to announce the passing of Ultimate Warrior, whose real name is James Hellwig.

A few days prior to his death, Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and appeared at Wrestlemania 30 and 'Monday Night Raw.' The charismatic wrestler will be remembered for his war paint-decorated face, acrobatic wrestling skills and his long fiery soliloquies before facing his opponent in the ring. In 1990, he defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to win the world title.

Ultimate Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.
