U-God Delivers His 'Venom' and It's Available for Streaming

After releasing his autobiography, RAW: My Journey Into The Wu-Tang, U-God returns with his new album, Venom. The LP is available for streaming on all digital platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.

Among the guests appearing on the 13-song collection are fellow Wu-Tang members Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Method Man. The album also features production assists from Green Lantern, Large Professor, Lord Finesse, The Bossmen, K Ford, Davel McKenzie, DJ Homicide and others.

Standout tracks on the album include, "Felon," where U-God recalls his days after being released from prison, and the eerie "Whole World Watchin'." On the dancehall-influnced "XXX," U-God details a horror story about a jealous ex who keeps stalking him.

Outside of his album, U-God is recieving great reviews about his book RAW. In his memoir, the Wu rhymer details his life growing up in the gritty Staten Island projects and becoming a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most legendary rap groups in hip-hop.

The 47-year-old rapper, whose real name is Lamont Hawkins, also writes about RZA's control over the Wu-Tang brand, which he believes in the catalyst for the in-fighting among the group members.

"Now that the days of gold and platinum plaques had dried up, dudes started fighting over the W," he writes. "The whole foundation that we were built on and that made us powerful fell apart. We weren’t building anymore; we were destroying ourselves."

"Trying to exert too much control over grown-ass men leads to problems. RZA doesn’t know how to let go and let motherfuckers be grown men anymore, like he used to back in the day," he concludes.
