Tyrese was one of the first performers to grace the stage at the at the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which aired Sunday (Nov. 29) on BET.

After being introduced, Tyrese delves into his set with the grace of a tried and true veteran, instantly captivating the crowd with his stage presence. Performing his hit single, "Shame," the California native, who burst onto the scene with a Coca-Cola commercial two decades ago, showed that he's a superb showman. Dressed mostly in all black, the 36-year-old looked the part of a lady killer while performing under the neon-red lights and billowing smoke.

Backed by a live band and singers, Tyrese delivered his song with passion, singing, "Oh, I'm ashamed of me (Shame on me) / I wish I never done you wrong (Shame on me) / Every night of us I dream / That I wake up in your arms."

Ending his performance by dropping down to his knees at the climax of his set, the California native set the bar high for the performers slated to go on after him and gave everyone in attendance something to talk about.

Later in the evening, Tyrese won the Centric Certified Award. During his acceptance, the crooner said the award represents that real R&B is still alive. Watch his acceptance speech below.
