In February, Tweet reemerged onto the music scene after a decade off the grid, dropping her critically acclaimed album, Charlene. The album showcases her soulful voice, dynamic range and songwriting skills.

"Charlene is a collection of inspirations of people that inspired me or music styles that have inspired me before the nickname Tweet, or before the artist Tweet," explained the "Oops (Oh My)" singer in an interview with The BoomBox. "I decided to go back to the basics, back to my roots."

Now the singer-songwriter, born Charlene Keys, is hitting the road on her North America trek called "The Charlene Tour." The seven-city jaunt begins on May 5 in Chicago, Ill., and will hit major cities like Nashville, Atlanta, New York and Washington, DC., with more dates added soon.

Tweet has also said via her social media that some special guests will be joining her on the excursion. We hope that special guest is her longtime friend, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott. Missy is featured on the track, "Somebody Else Will," which is produced by Timbaland.

"Reconnecting with Missy was everything that I needed for this album," the 45-year-old musician explained to us back in March.

Tweet will also be performing this summer at the 2016 Essence Festival in New Orleans.
