Trey Songz is reportedly going to court over a catchphrase.

According to the New York Post, the 'I Invented Sex' singer is being taken to court by a reality TV star, after attempting to claim ownership over the right to shout "Yuuup!"
The disagreement began when Songz' attorney reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to 'Storage Wars' star Dave "The Mogul" Hester, demanding that Hester refrain from using the phrase on the show. Songz also ordered Hester to discontinue sales of branded merchandise displaying the "Yuuup!" slogan, which he claims has been his "signature sound" since 2009.

In response, Hester has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court, contending that Songz rendition "resembles an animal-like or non-human squeal which begins with a distinct 'yeeee' sound before finishing with a squeal-like 'uuuup' sound," which is "distinct and different from Hester's more monosyllabic sounding guttural auction bidding phrase ... which is meant to convey the meaning of 'yes.'"

Hester is seeking unspecified damages and a court order blocking Songz from attempting to interfere with his usage of the phrase, which Hester claims to have trademarked back in September.
