Tori Kelly is one of the hottest rising artists at the moment and her new single "Should've Been Us" is an example of her stellar talent. The singer made her MTV Video Music Awards debut on Sunday night (Aug. 30) by performing the track and satisfying our souls at the same time.

Dressed in a bronze glittering jumpsuit and black suit jacket, the 22-year-old singer brought a rock edge to the soulful track, featured on her debut album, Unbreakable Smile, by performing with an electric guitar. As the band joined in and the lights went up, her voice escalated and became more powerful as she sang of regret about losing the person you love.

Tori is a serious vocal powerhouse and she added some flavor to her second verse as well. And while she might be new to the VMAs stage, she didn't let the first-time jitters get to her as she tossed her guitar to the side, grabbed the mic and gave her all up there on the stage.

She ended the performance on a strong note by singing the last round of the chorus a cappella, showing off her vocal range. This inspired a rousing round of applause from the crowd.

This wasn't the first time the California native sang at an awards show. She had the honor of paying tribute to Smokey Robinson at the 2015 BET Awards by performing "Who's Loving You." There's no doubt we'll be hearing more about Tori in the coming months.
