British rapper Tinie Tempah has announced that he's working on a clothing line. The 22-year-old – who made noise in the U.K. with his award-winning debut album 'Disc-Overy,' which makes its way to the States on May 3 -- revealed his plans to launch a line during an interview on London radio show KISS 100.

"We're working on our own brand but I really want to stay away from that whole hip-hop cliche –- 'he's a rapper turned fashion designer, turned actor turned property developer," Tempah explained on 'The Breakfast Show.' "I want people to walk into a shop and not immediately think 'Tinie Tempah,' but think 'that's a nice shirt' or 'that's a nice tee."

As for a particular look, the 'Pass Out' rapper admits that he's been inspired by some of his hometown faves, including Folk, Casely Hayford or House of Billiam, but don't look for Tempah to put his name on any gimmicks or fly-by-night trends. "I'm not really a trend guy, I just wear what I feel like. I've got tons of denim and a big blazer collection. I have a bit of an obsession with trainers, and, of course, I love bow ties.'

Despite a slew of honors and accolades across the pond –- most notably, Tempah took home the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act –- the rapper continues to work his way up the ladder in the U.S. The rapper's latest single 'Written in the Stars' was recently added as the theme song for WWE's Wrestlemania. Tempeh will also play his first U.S. festival when he takes the stage in Indio, Calif., on April 17 for the last day of Coachella.

Tempah stopped by our offices last year and admitted that nowadays things are moving pretty fast. "Everything has happened pretty quick," he told The BoomBox. "I've been doing this for a little while, but over the past year I've gone from walking down Oxford and noone knowing who I am to not being able to walk down Oxford Street within a space of a few months, and that is crazy. But, I love it. I love the fact that I was in a club in New York the other day and they played 'Pass Out' and only a few people walking around were like (makes shifty eyes face). I love that! It's keeps things exciting, it's like you have to start again."
