The Weeknd stayed true to the phrase "It's lit" during his performance of "Can't Feel My Face" at the 2015 MTV's Video Music Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Sunday night (Aug. 30).

Hues of red filled the stage and flames surrounded the singer as he showcased his vocal chops on the track off his new album Beauty Behind the Madness. Abel Tesfaye donned an all-black outfit complemented by a camouflage trench coat.

The funky yet smooth tune had the crowd moving including Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Chrissy Teigen. West, who's been a man of few tweets, named the Weeknd as one of his favorite artists and it showed as he was up and dancing.

"VMAs make some noise," yelled the Weeknd before flames engulfed the bottom of the stage. Abel, clearly feeling himself, started busting out a two-step by sliding his legs back and forth as he commanded the crowd. He even did a full spin a la Michael Jackson.

Afterwards, host Miley Cyrus voiced her thoughts on the fiery performance. "All that fire and all that hair," said Cyrus. "That is where I draw the line." She also added that means a lot since "it doesn't get that much crazier than me."
