After dropping his heartbreak-soaked EP My Dear Melancholy, last week, The Weeknd returns with a new video for one of the project’s standout tracks, “Call Out My Name.”

The R&B singer teamed up with his longtime collaborator Grant Singer to deliver a visually-stunning video with special effects, animals and Abel Tesfaye being his moody self.

The dark clip starts off basic enough with the Weeknd - dressed in all black - singing his lovelorn lyrics as he's walking in a desolate neighborhood under a dark blue hue. As he yells out the chorus, a burst of bats spew out of his mouth and disintegrates under the song's pounding beat.

The video then segues into a empty movie theater where the Weeknd sings in front of a big screen. Throughout the video, we are treated to animals frozen in time, decaying trees and a ghostly bird-human who seems to be watching the Weeknd croon about heartbreak and pain.

Overall, It’s a bombastic video that fits perfectly with the Weeknd’s yearning lyrics and haunting productions by Frank Dukes.

The Weeknd is set to close out the 2018 Coachella Music and Arts Festival on Friday night (April 13) at 11:30PM CT. The performances are currently being stream on the festival’s YouTube channel.
