Rising Brooklyn duo the Underachievers keep their momentum going strong with ‘The Lords of Flatbush,’ a free mixtape that puts their third-eye introspection to the side for a pack of bangers.

Issa Gold, one half of the duo, explained the projects intentions yesterday (Aug. 28) during a Twitter Q&A with his fans. One follower said he couldn’t wait to expand his mind while listening to the new tape, to which Issa replied that it’s the wrong project for that. He then stated:

Issa and his cohort AK made that point clear with mixtape leak ‘Leaving Scraps,’ a smoky Lex Luger-produced track that’s a raw showcase of the two rappers’ abilities.

Those talents are put on full display across ‘The Lords of Flatbush’ that serves as a follow-up to this year’s great ‘Indigoism.’ It’s also a precursor to the album that Issa referenced in the above tweet that’s tentatively titled ‘The Cellar Door’ and will drop on producer Flying Lotus‘ label, Brainfeeder.

You can stream the mixtape below and download it at Dat Piff.
