Netflix is bringing some major heat this summer. Along with the fantastic hip-hop-based series The Get Down, the streaming platform is also delivering another superhero series, Marvel's Luke Cage. And judging by the show’s new trailer, it’s bound to be one of the most kick-ass shows on television.

Based on Marvel’s classic comic book series, Cage is a former convict who has been given superhuman strength, including bulletproof skin. With these superpowers he goes about fighting crime in his Harlem neighborhood.

In the trailer, we get a preview of what to expect from this exciting new series. We see Cage (played by Mike Colter) emerging from a tank that gave him his superpowers and from there we are thrust into his world where he’s battling toughies and trying to figure out his uncanny abilities.

One of the standout moments in the visual is when evil bad guy Cornell Stokes (played by Mahershala Ali) stands in front of a photo of the late Notorious B.I.G. wearing a bejeweled crown and he says, “Everybody wants to be a king.”

There’s plenty of fighting, shooting and dramatic performances in the trailer with Isaac Hayes' soulful "Walk on By" playing in the background and plenty of cameos by Rosario Dawson, who's shown up in every Netflix Marvel series thus far, including Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

The series executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker, a former hip-hop journalist, revealed that every episode from Luke Cage will be named after a Gang Starr song. So you know that he's doing this for the culture. Salute!

Marvel's Luke Cage series will premiere on Netflix on Sept. 30.
