In what will likely be one of many tributes to the late soul icon Prince, The Game has released his elegiac tribute "Rest in Purple" featuring Lorine Chia.

The moving song samples one of Prince's classic hits, "When Doves Cry." The legendary guitarist died unexpectedly at his Paisley Park estate at age 57.

"Why everybody gotta die so damn soon? / All these legends dying, God gotta be runnin’ out of room / How he die? Don’t nobody even know yet / All I know is I aint ready to go yet," raps the Game.

After releasing the song, The Game went on his Instagram page to remember Prince's legacy and how his music influenced him as a rapper.

"Prince was such a huge inspiration to my life from a child watching #PurpleRain til the time I met him at Universal Music in 2006," he wrote. "I was a fan then & I am a fan now! His death was untimely & tragic... I'm sure the world is saddened as I was when I woke up to the news today.... Long story short, @bongobytheway hit me & told me stop by the studio & record a small tribute to him & his legacy & once I heard the beat, I hit @LorineChia to do the hook..... Hope you appreciate it..."
