Dear White People — the 2014 film that examined racial tensions at an Ivy League school — is being turned into a television series that'll air this spring on Netflix.

The series will be directed by Barry Jenkins, who's also been nominated for an Oscar for the film Moonlight. In addition, Justin Simien, who wrote the screenplay for Dear White People the movie, said that every episode will tell the story of a different character, and at some point everyone will come together.

"You can't really see the whole until you see the points of view that bring each character together," he recently told the press in New York City. "I really wanted to take advantage of the Netflix streaming format and create something that is specific to this platform."

The first episode of the series will air on April 28, and it'll be shown at this year's SXSW as well. You can check out a trailer above.
