For a person facing felony assault and strangulation charges, he's sure in a pretty good mood.

That's what some people might say when they see The-Dream's latest interview with TMZ. After leaving Mr. Chow over the weekend, the 'Black' singer said he's innocent of the charges against him. He also shared that he's "such a lovely person" that he could never beat his ex-girlfriend or anyone else.

As we shared last month, The-Dream was accused of hitting and choking his ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam, while she was still pregnant in 2013. Several disturbing photos of the alleged incident surfaced around shortly after the crooner was arrested. The-Dream had turned himself into police after a warrant was issued and things have been pretty quiet ever since.

When the TMZ reporter asked The-Dream where the bruises came from in those now infamous photos, he said the following: "I don't know, man. They all told me, they say if you get this much money somebody is going to always want it."

No official court date has been set as of yet, according to The-Dream. However, it's possible the former Def Jam artist is keeping the details of the impending case under wraps, which is probably a good idea if he doesn't want to dig himself into a deeper hole.
