The-Dream Deletes Twitter Account After Ciara Backlash

It’s become evident that when a famous person says something it can go viral in a matter of minutes. Their statement then runs the possibility of reaching the masses accurately or being misconstrued. Singer/songwriter The-Dream has become the latest celeb to experience such.

In a recent interview with Parlour magazine, the ATL native was asked about the album he’d recently written for R&B singer Ciara and if he thought it was her last shot at pop stardom. His response was, “I think so. You only get so many times to, and I won’t say fail, but not achieve. There’s an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she’s achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed. But now she’s back on the horse. When she first came out I, like Lil Jon and Jazze Pha, understood exactly who she was. It was that whole Atlanta vibe because if I’m not Atlanta, no one is. I knew if I had a chance to get with her creatively, there’s a specific type of swagger that she’s got. Tricky [Stewart] and I did her whole album, but it’s not all shallow songs like ‘Ride.’ There’s play time but there’s substance too, it’s a great listen.”

Once Ciara fans got wind of Dream’s comments they began bombarding his Twitter account (@officaldream) questioning why he would chose to say such things. Frustrated by the feedback he was receiving Dream tweeted, “It’s sad how we take things out of context … And if I said it’s Ciara’s last chance it’s because we all — me, [Tricky Stewart], and C beloved — our backs are against the wall … Look up the word context. And also become familiar with the phrase ‘taken out of context’ it helps … I believed in Ciara when every1 else walked away & talked s— I love her that’s my sister! Actions speak louder than words.”

Following the war of words Dream’s Twitter account was soon deleted. There is still speculation on whether or not his conflict with Ciara’s fans was the reason he decided to delete his Twitter account. Back in May he tweeted that he planed to delete his personal account @officialdream and solely use his other twitter account @TheDreamNation, but as of press time both account were deleted.

In other news, The-Dream will release his second album ‘Love King’ on June 29.
