The Cool Kids are back together.

The beloved Chicago rap duo that became one of the most talked-about acts of the MySpace era has reunited. Both Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks announced the news via Twitter late Wednesday (July 13) night. Inglish broke the news to his followers first.

"I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again," he tweeted. "The Cool Kids are back forreal."

The pair split after the release of their first studio album, 2011s When Fish Ride Bicycles. Inglish and Rocks met via MySpace, after Rocks heard a beat that Inglish shared via the platform. They'd built up an enormous amount of love and support from their MySpace releases in the lead-up to their first EP, the highly-acclaimed The Bake Sale in 2008. But after finally dropping an official studio album, Inglish and Rocks parted ways.

In 2012, Rocks made it sound as though the Cool Kids were definitely in his rearview.

"Man, we started off what we were doing, and we got caught in a bad label situation, and then we weren’t able to move as fast as we wanted to," he told AllHipHop.com at the time. "So, it gave people an opportunity to catch up and bite the style and s---, but during that whole time, we were already progressing, but it never really caught up to us. We were in a bad label situation and couldn’t get out to the media as much, so we were already moving on to new s--- anyways. And everything people get from us, we’ve done pretty much, so it’s pretty much all good and as far as career-wise, I feel like the last couple years have been us developing as artists and producers."

"People be like, 'Ah man, you ain’t gonna do Cool Kids, la da da.' But it’s not time for that, because that era has transitioned into something else, and we can’t go back there, we can’t go back to the same era that was there before."

But fans can rejoice in knowing that things have changed.

"EVERYTHING ELSE CAN WAIT," Rocks tweeted. "THE WORLD IS F---N TRIPPIN RIGHT NOW I JUST WANT S--- TO FEEL GOOD AGAIN."
