If Black Thought is not in your Top 5 Best MCs list, he will be now. The Roots rhymer appeared on Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show and delivered a blistering 10-minute freestyle that will blow your mind.

Over an instrumental of Mobb Deep's classic song, "The Learning (Burn)," the Philadelphia MC dropped similes, metaphors and onomatopoeias into a cohesive verse. Thought also name-dropped Kanye West, Combat Jack, Kendrick Lamar and Nat Turner for good measure. And he did all of this off the top of his head without the use of his smartphone or notes.

Reactions to Thought's verse were overwhelmingly positive.

"[Black Thought] channeled 10,000 ancestors!! I'm sitting here stuck ! He hit glow mode!" tweeted Styles P, while fellow rapper Smoke DZA wrote, "Black thought went dummy on flex. That was needed."

In response to his amazing freestyle, Thought tweeted, “That verse was just what I had to say at the moment lol.” Isn’t he so humble?
