Tech N9ne’s Aunt Shot Inside of Her Kansas City Home

Tech N9ne's aunt, Ivy Yates, was shot inside of her Kansas City, Missouri home on Saturday (Sept. 17).

The rapper posted the news on Instagram Sunday (Sept. 18) and local station Fox 4 News, confirms the incident. Police said the suspect shot several bullets into her home. Tech N9ne was not in town at the time, as he was traveling on tour.

"I need all the prayers I can get from my Technicians for my aunt Ivy," the 44 year-old rapper wrote on Instagram. "Some demon shot her last night! Send Angel love this way so I can transfer it her way! Positive energy today, people please!"

Fox 4 News reports that Yates was inside her home with her three grandchildren when bullets started to fly through the walls.Yates suffered a punctured lung when she was hit by a stray bullet. The rapper's family said that Ivy is the protector and nurturer of the family, and everyone is gathered at her bedside. They say that Yates was like a mother to TechN9ne and helped raise him.

Fortunately, it appears as if Yates is going to be okay. Tech N9ne later followed up his initial post with another, indicating his aunt was doing much better and "breathing on her own."
