T.I.'s short film, Us or Else, which addresses police terrorism in the Black community and the continual pressing for an end to systemic oppression, is now available to watch in full on YouTube.

The film, directed by Mike Ho, first aired on BET on April 24, and was followed by a discussion with CNN political commentator, Angela Rye about police brutality and its continued effects on the Black community. The short film is based on his album, Us Or Else: Letter to the System, Tip's musical response to the repeated deaths of unarmed black citizens at the hands of police.

“Police brutality is really just a tentacle to a larger problem – the racial divide and the systemic racism that goes on from the highest of highs to the lowest of the low of society in America,” he told CNN in an interview.

He echoed the sentiments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that a riot is a language of the unheard.

“If you place any creature in such excruciating circumstances over periods and periods of time … after so long, they will be agitated and antagonized,” Tip said. “It’s human nature, so to not expect that after the type of treatment that has been rendered is insane.”
