As the music portion of SXSW threatens to rear its crowded "it was better before Kanye" head again next week, The BoomBox has collected a selection of our favorite hip-hop events to ease your troubled mind while attending the event in Austin, Texas.

Of the many major label surprise events, perhaps the most unexpected is the Shady 2.0 SXSW Showcase, which features BoomBox favorites Big K.R.I.T., Schoolboy Q, Action Bronson -- remember we told you? -- Don Trip, STS, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf, alongside 50 Cent, who's performing his 2003 classic 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'' in its entirety for the first time. While there is no word as to whether label boss Eminem will be making an appearance, the event takes place at the Austin Music Hall -- 208 Nueces St. -- on Friday (March 16).

Equally high profile, Lil Wayne will be performing at the DEWeezy event -- a campaign launch of a collaboration that "celebrates individuality, passion and self-expression" -- on March 15, also at the Austin Music Hall, with doors opening at 6:30PM.

B.o.B., T.I., Wale, Meek Mill, Stalley and Curren$y will be rocking the Warner Sound event at La Zona Rosa -- 612 W. 4th St. at Rio Grande St. -- later that night, which begins at 8:30PM, with an opening set by DJ Drama.

Earlier in the week, NYC venue S.O.B.s will be throwing their 30th Anniversary Concert at the Belmont -- 305 W. 6th St. -- on March 14, with Mystikal, Miguel, Slaughterhouse, Machine Gun Kelly, 2 Chainz and more. Doors are at 7:30PM.

One of the most talked-about showcases, the Vibe House, takes place on March 16 and 17 from 8PM to 2AM at Kiss & Fly -- 404 Colorado St. The roster of performers includes Mystikal, Juvenile, Smoke DZA, Trae the Truth, Don Trip, and Jay Rock, Ab Soul, Kendrick Lamar -- also performing at the Fader Fort with Schoolboy Q as Black Hippy -- Nipsey Hussle and many more.

Finally, Korg will be throwing a showcase at Cielo -- 505 Neches St. -- on March 17, beginning at 1PM. The event features Idle Warship -- comprised of Talib Kweli and Res -- Dawn Richard, Schoolboy Q, J*DaVeY and 9th Wonder with Terrace Martin.

See you in the streets.
