Swizz Beatz Named Producer-in-Residence at NYU
Back in June, an excited Bun B announced his new teaching post at Texas' Rice University, and now Swizz Beatz will follow suit, by dedicating his precious time to educating the kids. On Wednesday morning Swizzy was named the first Producer-in-Residence at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
For the remainder of the 2010-2011 academic year, Swizz will lend his musical expertise to NYU's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, where he will instill students with the skills it takes to achieve entrepreneurial success in the music industry. "I'm excited to be able to take my many years of experience in the music business and use it as an example to instruct students," Swizz said. "The invitation from Mr. Davis and professor Rabhan is humbling and I'm honored."
According to NYU's official website, Swizz will be responsible for hosting group lectures, one-on-one sessions, giving songwriting critiques and providing students with access to other powerful players in the industry. "Swizz Beatz' amazing track record as an artist and producer, coupled with his commitment to education, makes him the ideal role model for our students," said Jeffrey Rabhan, chair of The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music. "We consider it a great honor to have him involved with this unique program."
