What happened to New York City hip-hop? A new documentary titled 'The New York Rap Revival' aims to find out.

The grassroots doc, which features appearances from MTV's Sway Calloway and artists like AZ and Vinny Cha$e, dives in to find out why New York City has seemingly lost its hold on hip-hop.

In light of Trinidad James' recent remarks that the South is running rap and Kendrick Lamar's 'Control' verse, the documentary seems right on time.

Helmed by DJ S. WHiT, who is a DJ and on-air personality for SiriusXM's Hip-Hop Nation, 'The New York Rap Revival' is currently being funded via KickStarter.
