Suge Knight's murder trial was set to take place on Feb. 22, 2017 but now will be pushed back, probably until May, as his lawyers attempt to get his $10 million bail reduced.

The New York Daily News reports the Death Row founder plans to file his new bail motion in the coming weeks, according to his fiancée Toi-Lin Kelly. She also said that they are "very ambitious about moving forward to trial." Knight's murder charge stems from at 2105 incident Tam's restaurant in January 2015 when Knight ran over two men with his truck, killing Compton businessman Terry Carter, 55. Prosecutors say that Knight intentionally hit the gas to run over Cle "Bone" Sloan, who was working on the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton. Sloan survived. Knight has been locked up now for nearly two years on murder and attempted murder charges.

Knight recently filed a lawsuit against Dr. Dre, saying that the producer tried to have him killed.  Suge claims that he had a lifetime management deal with Dre, which entitled him to 30 percent of the rap mogul’s earnings. When veteran producer sold his Beats by Dre company to Apple, Knight alleges that Dre cut him out of the deal because the tech giant didn’t want to be associated with the former Death Row Records founder.So to fix that, according to the lawsuit, Dre hired a hitman to kill Knight at 1 OAK during a pre-VMAs party in Los Angeles on Aug. 23. Knight was shot seven times including in the chest, forearm and abdomen. Knight is suing Dre, Apple, Universal and other parties for unspecified damages, including 30 percent of Dre’s monies from the Beats-Apple sale.

There's no confirmation on the specific date for Knight's murder trial, though it's reportedly expected to take place in May.
