The crew and actors starring in 'Straight Outta Compton' were in for a scare when a drive-by shooting occurred steps from the set last week.

According to TMZ, the film crew was setting up outside a courthouse in Compton, Calif., when a group of locals flashed gang signs at a passing vehicle. From there, bullets rang out, although the shots weren't intended for anyone working on the film.

Unfortunately, a passerby, unrelated to the movie, was hit and immediately collapsed but survived.

LAPD police are now investigating the shooting. So far there's been no word from the film's director F. Gary Gray or his crew. 'Straight Outta Compton' is slated to be released on Aug. 15, 2015.
