Stream Statik Selektah’s ‘Lucky 7′ Album

For years, Statik Selektah has instilled nostalgia into the hip-hop culture with his enchanting production. He's been busy over the past few months, enlisting a cadre of hip-hop artists to join him on his newest endeavor, Lucky 7, which released on July 7.

New school artists like Mick Jenkins, Your Old Droog and Rapsody blossom over Statik's spell-binding beats on the album. New York's very own Action Bronson effortlessly glides on Statik's funky instrumental "Beautiful Life," with his hard-nosed delivery. "Number 3, John Starks on the jersey / Bitch I've doing this for thirty / The hair on my face says I'm a dominant man with no regards / Catch ya boy on Queens Boulevard," he raps.

Joey Bada$$ joins the party and pounces on the beat with tenacity. "Cadillac dreams, in between / The man and his cream, every thought brought the penny back / Ballin' off that, yo thanks for the alley act," he raps.

"Scratch Off" is a perfect example of Statik Selektah's ability to combine old school talent with the new school by bringing together Talib Kweli with Pro Era's CJ Fly and Cane. The latter soulfully croons over the jazzy instrumental, while Talib and Cane breathe life into the track with fruitful verses of their own.

Chicago's very own Mick Jenkins shines on "How You Feel." Over Statik Selektah's mesmerizing piano keys, Jenkins bares it all like a nudist on the track. "And when I'm 6'5", big boy no three stacks / Tryna flip it three ways, one pack, three days / I give you low key ways to get that off / the henny got me talking crazy like I pissed that soft," he raps.

Royce Da 5'9 flexes his lyrical muscle on "Crystal Clear": "Man I'm glad I got sober, I was out here 'bout to marry all the bitches / Plus the doctor said, I nearly almost did / Five-nine is underrated, that's such an understatement / F---, man I might as well bury all the critics."
