Director Spike Lee has been making headlines for a variety of reasons recently but this time it's fairly good news. Lee is bringing back the annual "Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson" event after a two-year hiatus. The event is held in honor of the late King of Pop's birthday on Aug. 29.

The Aug. 24 festivities, which are free to the public, will feature DJ Spinna handling the turntables. He'll be spinning Jackson jams from noon-6PM at Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Bed-Stuy Reservation Plaza.

This year has been a comeback year of sorts for Lee. 'Do The Right Thing,' his most famous work, celebrated its 25th anniversary last month, and it's been announced that Showtime will adapt the 'She's Gotta Have It' film script into a television series.
