Soulja Boy Blames Racist Tirade on Facebook Hacker
The outburst, which was first publicized by gossip blog PerezHilton.com, found the young rapper lashing out at just about any and everybody who hates him, questioning why they choose to be-friend him on the social networking site if their intention is to litter his pages with negativity.
The angry and aggressive tone of the Facebook post was riddled with both racist connotations and a homophobic slur.
“p—- a– white boys make me sick man. LET A BLACK MAN SHINE AND DO SOMETHING POSITIVE!!! DAMN YALL ALREADY GOT MONEY AND LIVING RIGHT STOP HOLDING US BLACK PEOPLE DOWN TRYING TO DO SOMETHING POSITIVE WITH THEIR LIVES! YALL BEEN f—ING WITH US SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME… if I don’t like a artist im not going to like their facebook and talk to them. use common sense and stop being stupid. I’M TIRED OF WHITE PEOPLE DOING US LIKE THIS MAN!! THEY TREAT US SO WRONG!! F— THEM. I’m gonna keep talking s— to these white f—— until they unlike my page. F—ing weirdo stalkers!” read an excerpt of the post.
In response, Soulja Boy vehemently denied having anything to do with the tirade. “I wanted to clear the air and let everyone know that my Facebook got hacked,” he said. “I had administrators on my account that no longer work with me. The hackers used these old accounts to post hateful messages. This was not done by me or anyone on my team and I’m upset that I am being labeled as a racist and homophobic person.”
The 20-year-old has built his career off being savvy in the realm of social media. His debut single, ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy),’ became popular via MySpace and YouTube before spending nearly seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2007. Additionally, the Atlanta native boasts over 2 million followers on Twitter and over 5 million fans on Facebook.
