It’s been a long seven days and the pressures of the week may have worn on your soul. But it's the weekend, and you know what that means: a new edition of Songs of the Week. Our previous trio of artists that made the cut were Troy Ave, and Wale made the list along with Chrisette Michelle, who took home top honors with her latest single,” which has gotten its fair share of spins and has become a fan favorite around The Boombox office.

Music releases may have been light this week with all of the award shows and festivities taking place, mainly the BET Awards, but has also provided its fair share of dope tunes.

After mulling through the possible picks throughout the past few days, the elimination game may have been a headache, but we managed to narrow it down to three winners. Here are your Songs of the Week featuring Vinny Cha$e, Nick Grant, and Logic. Enjoy.

    "Flu Game"

    Vinny Cha$e Featuring Kid Art

Harlem rep Vinny Cha$e is in the mood for balling on his latest heat-rock, "Flu Game," which is inspired by Micheal Jordan's famed performance in the 1997 NBA Finals. The record, which features Kid Art, sees the two spitters spouting off over a sparse, but expansive, soundscape, delivering quotables at a rapid pace. "Flu Game" is the final installment of Vinny Cha$e's Road to #LS7 music series and stands as one of the more underrated offering that deserve some burn on your playlist.

    "For Love"

    Nick Grant Featuring Dominic Gordon

Rising South Carolina rapper Nick Grant is quickly becoming one of the more acclaimed wordsmiths to emerge within the past year in rap, steadily staking his claim as the future of his hometown. If Grant is intending to put the unsung half of the Carolinas on the map, his new tune, "For Love," should help him make forward progress in that mission. Taking a page out of the great Bobby Caldwell's book, Nick Grant links up with vocalist Dominic Gordon to get cozy with the opposite sex on this hazy selection.

    "Wrist"

    Logic Featuring Pusha T

Maryland's latest star player Logic is back to restore order in the DMV by raising the stakes with his new one-off, "Wrist," which was premiered on Zane Lowe's radio show this past week. The track, which includes a exhilarating guest verse by Logic's border brother Pusha T, Virginia and the home of the Terrapins connect and great things come as a result, mainly elite couplets and bars. "Wrist" gets our nod for Song of the Week and should be on the docket of tracks you plan to catch up on, so do yourself a favor and do so sooner than later and treat yourself to some good music!
