Snoop Dogg, Pharrell and More on New Kid Cudi Album

Ohio rapper Kid Cudi's momentum is undeniable. Though considered by many to have been a one-hit-wonder after the success of 'Day 'N' Nite,' and lack of a real follow-up single, Cudi's recent moves have proved his critics wrong.

The Good Music-signed MC is currently replacing his mentor, Kanye West, on tour with Lady Gaga, his debut 'Man on the Moon: The End of Day' was surprisingly well-received, and he's already hard at work on his followup, 'Cudder.'

"'Cudder,' I already got five tracks locked in," he told MTV. "We got Snoop, we got Pharrell. I just was in the studio with him. We got [producer] Jim Jonsin. I did a record with him. I'm gonna get back in the studio with him. Trying to get the right amount of hit records on this. It's gonna be the complete opposite of what 'Man on the Moon' was. 'Man on the Moon' was so serious. This one is gonna be more playful and fun. It's about having a good time."

Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, explained that he found it much easier to secure guest artists this time around, due to the recent popularity. "People reaching out to me wanting to collab is so bugged out," Cudi said. "I remember when nobody wanted to do any song with me, let alone listen to my s---. It's been humbling since Kanye reached out. People seek my creativity; that's dope. I don't do the normal s---. I don't make the normal songs. So when people reach out, that means they're on the same frequency."

Kid Cudi's 'Man on the Moon' is in stores now. It features appearances by Kanye, Common and MGMT. Cudi is also up for Grammys in the Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group and Best Rap Song categories.
