Snoop Dogg is trying to inform people about one of his favorite pastimes -- smoking marijuana. The rapper has kicked off a new platform, Merry Jane, a lifestyle and information center for those seeking to learn more about his favorite plant.

“Merry Jane is cannabis 2.0. A crossroads of pot culture, business, politics, health,” said Snoop Dogg in a promotional video that aired at TechCrunch Disrupt, an event dedicated to new advances in technology. The Doggystyle creator announced the effort at the event with Merry Jane's co-founder, Ted Chung on Monday (Sept. 21).

It's no secret that the the 43-year-old rapper loves smoking weed, but he also declared that he hopes the site will open an "opportunity" for other people to "come out of the closet and just admit they like to smoke" as well.

Users will be able to let their creative muscles flex as well as the Long Beach, Calif. native plans to launch a cooking show on edibles and weed pairings. Another show titled Deflowered, will work as a forum for smokers to discuss their first-time experience with cannabis, which may bring some notable names to the table since the hip-hop veteran said "Seth Rogan is down with the team." He already has a sneak peek of what's to come where two marines speak on their experiences with smoking pot.

The legalization of marijuana has become a hot button issue as the states of Alaska, Oregon, Colorado and Washington have become lax on it. And as more people learn about cannabis, it's likely to become legalized all over the country.

Only a select number of people -- 420 to be exact -- have started sniffing out the site during its beta testing. Everyone else will have to wait until the site launches in October.
