Snoop Dogg Channels Elvis Presley in ‘Blue Xmas’ Video

Christmas might be over, but we couldn’t help but share this rare look at Snoop Dogg showing his more vulnerable side with a cover of Elvis’ ‘Blue Christmas.’

Filmed like a home movie (VHS-style), the rapper, who wears shades and a Pittsburgh Steelers Santa hat, is sitting by a tree that looks just as sad as him and holds an acoustic guitar.

“Spending Christmas alone,” he says in a whisper while strumming a string of notes. “Sad. Sad. Sad.”

He continues a monologue during the bridge, “Silent Night. Lonely night. I wish you were here to hold me tight. I’m feeling blue on this Christmas, this Christmas night.”

Produced Fred Wreck and baked by Dah Dah, Snoop sings along to a live version of Elvis Presley’s ‘Blue Christmas.’ If you can’t get enough of the West Coast MC’s emotional performance, the layers of Auto-Tuned voices as well as the girls cheering will.
