While it'd previously been announced that a film on Death Row was in the works, following the immense success of N.W.A.'s 2015 biopic Straight Out of Compton, Shadow and Act now reports that Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger are shopping a drama series about Tha Dogg Pound to networks.

Alongside Snoop, Dr. Dre and Tupac, The Dogg Pound (Kurupt and Daz) were instrumental to Death Row Records, with Kurupt being among one of the most respected emcees in hip-hop at the time and Daz producing several hit songs for the label. Fans connected to the Death Row era in the mid-90s should be especially excited to hear this latest development.

While an indie documentary on the Tha Dogg Pound, DPG Eulogy, was released back in 2005, and last year, Daz shared that another film, DPG 4 Life, was coming, a series will give a more in-depth look at the group's dynamics. Daz says there are so many stories that haven't yet been told about the early days at Death Row and all of the surrounding drama, a series is avenue to tell fans what really happened.

“Snoop and I are always being asked to assist others with their Death Row projects because we were there from the beginning, until the demise,” Daz said, according to Shadow and Act. “We saw Dre leave, Pac murdered, and we were forced to run the company when Suge Knight went back to prison. Our perspective is honest and unique. There are countless stories that the world has never heard about those early days.”

As of now, there's no word on what networks are interested in the potential series. In the meantime, Daz said late last year that a new DPG album is on the way this year.
