Last week, when JAY-Z released his new album 4:44, many fans complained of not being able to listen to it because it was a Sprint/Tidal exclusive release. While this was a smart business move on Hov’s part, this also led to rampant pirating of his album.

Case in point: Snoop Dogg. Like most people who are not subscribed to Tidal, he went looking for 4:44 on Apple Music and could not find it. So how’d did the rap veteran listen to Hov’s album? His friend sent him the bootleg, of course.

In the video above, the Doggfather sang the praises of JAY-Z’s album but was wondering why it wasn’t available everywhere. Even more shocking, Snoop revealed that he wasn’t familiar with Hov’s streaming service, Tidal.

“Top of the morning,” he said. “I want to shoot a shout out to JAY-Z just dropped another muthaf---ing hot album, 4:44. But you know what? I don’t got Tidal, so a n---- had to bootleg it to me. I’m on iTunes and s---. I don’t understand that - y’all gotta explain that to me. I went to iTunes looking for his album and I couldn’t find it. But my homie sent it to me, you understand me. But um, shout out to JAY-Z, my n----. He did it again."

We can only assume that Snoop didn’t get the memo that 4:44 was a Sprint/Tidal exclusive. But there is good news—JAY-Z's album will be available on Apple Music/iTunes this week. If you don't want to wait, you can download it for free at 444.tidal.com.

Before signing off on his video, Snoop had a message for rap's old and new generation.

"See, I ain’t no hater, I love the game for what it’s worth -- the young n----s and the old n----s," he said. "Practice that. Practice showing love. Practice supporting other muthaf---as other than yourself. Yeah, do that.”
