Snoop DoggIn mid-March, the UK Sun reported that Glastonbury organizer Michael Eavis was determined to recruit West Coast rapper, Snoop Dogg to perform at the 2010 festival. It seems that Eavis has completed his mission, because Snoop Dogg has been officially added the extensive lineup of performers at this year's festival.

According to Eavis, his daughter and co-organizer Emily Eavis expressed the initial interest in getting Snoop on board, after her successful recruitment of Jay-Z as a headliner in 2008. "She's a bright girl and she is very keen on Snoop Dogg doing the show, so we want him," Eavis told the UK Sun. Snoop Dogg will take the stage at Glastonbury on Friday, June 25 along with headliners U2, and additional performers Willie Nelson and Brit rapper Dizzee Racal. Eavis expressed his enthusiasm for this year's lineup on the festival's website, saying that it has been the best in recent years. "This is it," Eavis wrote. "The most staggering line up to match the 40-year reputation of the festival."

Snoop recently won an ongoing battle with UK immigration, stemming from a 2006 scuffle at London's Heathrow airport. The Long Beach rapper was allowed to enter the country again, beginning in March.

The 2010 Glastonbury festival will run from June 23-27. Other performers at the legendary festival will include Stevie Wonder, Mos Def, Vampire Weekend, Muse, MGMT and Grizzly Bear.
