One of the first things you want to do when you leave a bad relationship is show your ex how exceedingly well you are doing despite them. Although Kanye West’s past business dealings with Nike was very fruitful, he appears to be happier than ever over at Adidas. But doesn’t mean sneakerheads have forgotten about his ever popular Yeezy 2 shoe that he created for Nike.

Prior to West making the jump to Adidas he voiced his disappointment with the Nike Air Yeezy 2’s availability in stores among other things. Now fans want to see the return of the Yeezy 2 collection but this time in stores worldwide.

Sneakerhead Dwayne Gates Jr. has started an online petition for Nike to bring the beloved model to general release. It’s a novel concept that cites the violence caused by the sneaker's scarcity as a reason to release them in mass. But will it really move the sneaker giant to restock the model?

Probably not.

In the past, West has blasted Nike during his concerts, in various interviews and most recently with his abrasive single, "Facts." The CEOs at Nike are surely not happy with West's vitriol at them and are most likely done with the Yeezys.

However, Nike has slyly named a sneaker the Nike Entertrainer, which, by name alone, feels like a small dig at West as it borrows a few prominent elements of the Air Yeezy 2 for good measure.

With the constant brouhaha surrounding this entire situation we can’t help but wonder if the G.O.O.D. Music leader changing the name of his upcoming album title to Swish was yet another slap at the Nike "Swoosh" emblem in favor of his current employer. If so, we wouldn’t be surprised at all.

In the end, if you want to see Nike re-release the Air Yeezy 2, you can sign the petition at Change.org. So far, it has garnered over 10,000 digital signatures.
