The house that Jordan built recently announced their 30th anniversary sneaker. A number so important that we had to make the Air Jordan XXX our Sneaker of the Week.

An upcoming Air Jordan signature silhouette is always an event but this pair bears a different significance as it marks a true milestone and Tinker Hatfield understood this going in. He chose to keep the inspirations behind the design internal and the resulting model benefits greatly from it.

A first glimpse gives way to a subtle style with a bold XXX, signifying 30, being the most noticeable thing. Uon closer inspection, you’ll discover that this pair is loaded with technology. The model boasts an exclusive mix of woven, knit and printed materials for it’s upper that is capped off by a printed toe bearing the Jumpman logo while FlightSpeed provides an explosive first step.

While retro Air Jordan releases are an economy unto themselves, the brand is not resting on their laurels and are still continuing to innovate. The anniversary-marking shoe blends form and function into a seamless package and will be available at select Nike retailers starting on Feb. 12.
