Skillz is about to flesh out his resume. The Virginia rapper is set to star in the upcoming film 'Byron,' a street drama that he also wrote. The flick, which co-stars Nadine Valazquez, Cisco Reyes and Dominic Comperatore, was lensed by Yolande Geralds, making her directorial debut following a solid music video directing career with clips for Plies, Trey Songz and Estelle under her belt.

Skillz stars as Dee, a drug dealer struggling to get out of the crime game. After witnessing the toll drugs take on a customer, Dee tries to turn his life around for the sake of his girlfriend Jessica and their 10-year-old son, but faces the ultimate conflict when Jessica gets in a car accident.

"Its just about circumstances and life. When people end up meeting each other and inevitably their whole lives change," Skillz told AllHipHop of the film, which also stars Short Dawg, Phoenix Jacob and Erron Jay. "Its just some things in life that you can't change."

The film premiered last night at the Cinema Café in Chesapeake, Virginia, though no further details have been released on whether the film will expand to more theaters. Skillz most recently dropped his fifth studio album 'The World Needs More Skillz,' on Oct. 26. At the turn of every new year, Skillz releases a rap up about the year in passing.
