Mel B's rough 2017 continues. The former Spice Girl (born Melanie Brown) is accused of intimidating a witness who was set to testify against her and Stephen Belafonte's divorce case. According to TMZ, the police have opened a felony investigation.

Law enforcement sources reportedly confirmed that Sisterhood of Hip Hop rapper Siya filed a police report Monday (Sept. 11), claiming Mel B sent her texts last Saturday threatening her. TMZ says that Siya (birth name Michele Sherman) showed police the messages and they opened a felony witness intimidation case.

Allegedly a close friend of the former couple, Siya was reportedly expected to contradict Mel B's claims that Belafonte physically abused her.

TMZ also says that Siya was privy to further knowledge in their relationship, and is expected to testify that Mel was a frequent drug abuser and instigated the supposed threesomes that took place between Belafonte, Mel and their nanny, Lorraine Gilles.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight back in April, Belafonte’s lawyers responded to the abuse allegations, stating, “What matters most to Mr. Belafonte is the safety and well-being of his daughters and step-daughters. It’s a shame that Ms. Brown elected not to proceed in a respectful and amicable fashion in this very private matter. In due course, Mr. Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms. Brown, which allegations he vehemently denies.”
