Schoolboy Q’s ‘Oxymoron’ Album Leaks, Rapper & TDE CEO Anthony Tiffith Respond

Top Dawg Entertainment's CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith was feeling pretty confident on Wednesday (Feb. 19) about the fact that ScHoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' album hadn't leaked before its release.

Tiffith, who goes by the name "dangeroo kipawaa" on Twitter, even shared that the project would only get out when TDE released it.

Unfortunately, ScHoolboy Q's oft-delayed effort leaked on Thursday (Feb. 20), five days before its scheduled release. However, the leak isn't killing the team's good spirits.

In a tweet released after the LP arrived before its due date, Feb. 25, the CEO explained that he anticipated a leak because he had to send a few copies to retails stores, which is when leaks often occur.

He also experienced a leak days before fellow TDE artist Kendrick Lamar's 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' 2012 release date. The project achieved gold status within weeks and achieved platinum status the next year, so Tiffith let fans know he wasn't worried about this minor dilemma.

"NO LEAKS WILL SLOW DOWN THIS #TDE X #OXYMORON X #HIIIPOWER MOVEMENT... #GKMC LEAKED MIL + SOLD... OUR FANS / FAM ARE TRUE 2 THIS S---," he wrote.

ScHoolboy Q once said 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' put a bit of pressure on him while he was creating 'Oxymoron.' His album doesn't have any Top 40 hits either, but he's confident in his project due to fan support.

The West Coast native wasn't even surprised about his supporters hearing the project before its release date. When a fan asked if ScHoolboy Q knew the album would leak, he responded by saying, "yup but I kno tHey still gon support we number 1."

So ScHoolboy Q's First Listen performance this Sunday (Feb. 23) won't be a first listen for many, but the concert will still take place at the Le Poisson Rouge venue in New York.
