Sasheer Zamata, the talented actress and comedian who's been a part of the SNL cast for three years, is saying goodbye.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 31-year-old will not be returning to the show next season after being cast in 2014. At the time, people were blasting SNL for their lack of diversity, since it hired a slew of new talent and none of them were people of color or women.

Next, Zamata will take a huge leap in her stand-up comedy career, doing her own special titled Pizza Mind on Sesso, March 30. As far as her SNL days, the funny-woman said the series made her pen game stronger, as well as her overall comedy routine, especially since she gets to use some of the material that was rejected for the show.

"I feel like I've definitely become a better writer since working on the show," she said. "And things that I haven't been able to use on the show have gone into my performance on stage. I think by default my work has become more political and little more biting than it was before, which I like."
