Sam Smith Covers Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’ [VIDEO]

Sam Smith has an uncanny ability to make everything emo. The British crooner takes on Whitney Houston‘s ‘How Will I Know,’ flipping the ’80s classic into a melancholy cover.

The crooner, who performed with Mary J. Blige for a sold-out show at the Apollo Theater last week, covered the track for Sirius’ Hits 1.

“How will I know if you really love me?” he asks during the performance, which has over one million views in just three days. “How will I know if you’re thinking of me?”

The 22-year-old U.K. native has been making waves leading up to the release of his debut album, ‘In the Lonely Hour.’ According to early predictions from Billboard, the effort, which was released last week in the U.S., and features tracks like ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Lay Me Down,’ is slated to bow in at the No. 2 spot on the albums chart.
