Legendary female hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa appeared on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' on Wednesday (April 13) as part of the TV queen's Rock Goddesses special.

Cheryl "Salt" Wray, Sandra "Pepa" Denton and their DJ Deidra "Spinderella" Roper gave fans a preview of their new single, 'Hands Up,' and performed a medley of their greatest hits including 'Shoop,' 'Push It' and 'Whatta Man.'

The ladies also chatted with Oprah about their pre-fame days, with Salt detailing the duo's job at a telemarketing company, along with fellow entertainers Martin Lawrence and Kid 'N Play. "We were telephone solicitors at Sears Roebuck and Martin Lawrence worked there, Kid 'N Play, and Salt-N-Pepa at the same time," she explained. "And now we're on Oprah!"

Salt-N-Pepa's appearance was a part of Oprah's segment honoring iconic female musicians. Other guests and performers included the legendary Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar and Sister Sledge, who performed with their contemporaries Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne.

The Queens natives have released five albums during the course of their career, including 1993's 'Very Necessary,' which went five times platinum. Their most recent LP was 1997's 'Brand New,' which was certified gold.
