Rihanna Teases ‘Promising’ New Song
After dropping a few vague hints about her forthcoming album, 'R8,' in recent weeks, Rihanna is finally sharing some of the actual music. But before you get too excited, it's merely a teaser. Better than nothing, right?
The songstress posted the 15-second teaser to Instagram with the caption, "phuckin round in da studio." The track begins with a wailing siren, which is followed by a haunting, slow drum pattern. From there, you can hear RiRi sing about life's certainty.
"Ain't none of this s--- promised, ain't none of it promised / Ain't none of this s--- certain, ain't none of it certain," she sings.
The 26-year-old pop star has kept pretty tight lipped about 'R8,' barring the time she played it for a few record label execs. She gave some details about the project to 'Entertainment Tonight,' exciting fans for what's to come.
"I'm really excited about the music that we've been working on, so I can't wait for everybody to hear it," she said.
Since information about the LP is pretty scarce, the Bajan singer reminded fans that “ANY news about #R8 will be delivered directly from me!!!!” in a Twitter post.
The folks at the record label apparently heard a song titled 'I've Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I'm Alone,' which could be a future single.
But for now, the teaser is all we get, and by the sound of it, Rihanna is heading in a promising musical direction. Knowing her Navy -- the name of her loyal fan base -- their probably salivating on themselves now, which is exactly what a good teaser is supposed to do.
'R8' serves as Rihanna's eighth album and the follow-up to 2012's 'Unapologetic.'
