Rihanna is among several artists who are outraged over the sentencing of Cyntoia Brown.

For those who don’t know, Cyntoia Brown is a former child sex slave who was sold into prostitution and was repeatedly raped and drugged by different men. After years of sexual torment, she found the courage to fight back and killed one of her abusers. Brown was arrested and convicted for murder as an adult and will not be eligible for parole until she is 69 years old.

Rihanna went on her Instagram page to express her outrage at the justice system that she feels is punishing the victim and not her abusers.

"Did we somehow change the definition of #JUSTICE along the way??" she wrote. "Cause..... Something is horribly wrong when the system enables these rapists and the victim is thrown away for life! To each of you responsible for this child's sentence I hope to God you don't have children, because this could be your daughter being punished for punishing already!"

Rihanna also posted a photo of Brown who, at 28, received her associate’s degree from Lipscomb University’s in-jail program. She is now working toward her bachelor’s.

Other celebrities including Kim Kardashian West, T.I., Snoop Dogg and others have spoken out about Brown's case.

Currently, there's a MoveOn petition aimed at Brown's freedom through a presidential pardon. You can also watch a PBS documentary, Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story, about Brown's life before and after the sentence, here.
