Rihanna Performs ‘What’s My Name’ and More at AMAs

Rihanna showed off much more than her vocal talents during her opening performance at the American Music Awards this evening (Nov. 21). The ‘Loud’ singer, covered in a pink robe, sat perched on a silver tree-like structure as she breezed through the ballad, ‘Love The Way You Lie (Part II),’ sans Eminem. As Rih Rih belted out the last lyric, she dropped to the ground, which signaled the haunting synths of ‘What’s My Name’ to sound off.

The fiery-haired songstress then slid through a smoky haze wearing little more than a bandeau top, high-waisted bikini bottoms and a colorful wrap around her waist. As she sauntered on stage, Rihanna sang choice lines like, “Hey, boy, I really want to see if you can go downtown with a girl like me,” all while whining her body ever so seductively.

Dancers joined her before a line of drummers started up the tune of ‘Only Girl (In The World),’ giving the electro-tinged record a distinctly tribal feel. Fitting with the song’s premise, the Caribbean queen finished her set by standing solo against a glowing structure.
