Rihanna opened the 2016 MTV VMA's a with a high-energy, super pink performance. The Video Vanguard Award honoree ran through a medley of her hits, including "We Found Love," "Diamonds," "Only Girl (In the World), and "Where Have You Been."

The performance wasn't as much about showcasing RiRi's vocals (she mostly lip-synced), but was more about her command for the stage, as she led a group of dancers through a bright, festive routine that relied heavily on her dance hits. She ran through a well-choreographed routine for her opening number, showing fans that yes, she can dance too. Rocking a high pony-tail which she swung around a lot, diva style, and a "Hood By Air" t-shirt, RiRi's round the way girl look had fans excited, as per usual, as they praised her fashion sense.

"Ain't no one stepping to Rihanna when it comes to fashion. NO ONE," one fan tweeted.

The opening was just one of three performances the singer has planned for the night, and the kick off has fans anticipating what she'll do next. Rih-Rih avoided the red carpet, but Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande all earned raves from the fans.
