As reported by AOL Music, we all know and love Rihanna's sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll-themed music video for "We Found Love." But as actor James Franco revealed to MTV, the visuals could have turned out very differently, as he was originally tapped to star opposite RiRi as her hard-partying lover!

The controversial clip chronicles the mutually destructive relationship between Ri's character, and her super-hot boyfriend, played by British model Dudley O'Shaughnessy. Can you imagine what the video would have looked like with the Golden Globe-winning goofball in the sexy role instead? "She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy," Franco, 34, told MTV.

"I couldn't do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there's mutual love between us," he joked.

Franco recently payed homage to his almost co-star, by recording a lazily lip-synced cover of her song "You Da One" and posting the video online. "It didn't take a lot of work," he admitted. "But, I do like Rihanna."

If you're curious about what a Franco-RiRi on-screen collaboration might look like, you could be in luck! The actor revealed that the singer may appear alongside him in the upcoming film, "The Apocalypse." "I think she's gonna be in the new movie that I'm doing, Seth Rogen's directorial debut," Franco said. "I think she has a little part in that."

In addition to Franco, the movie also stars director and co-writer Seth Rogen, as well as Jonah Hill, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel. The flick apparently tells the story of a group of celebrity party-goers, who discover that the world is coming to an end. Sounds interesting!
